En la oficina, el lenguaje está condicionado por la búsqueda de comunicación e información. La materialidad de cada palabra está subyugada a un fin práctico, el olvido sistemático y estructural de sus cualidades visuales se manifiesta en su lectura –obligada y repetitiva–, la cual nos conlleva a los trabajadores de oficina a sentir cierto tedio cuando leemos y escribimos para comunicarnos. A medida que el tedio incrementa, buscamos maneras de evitarlo por medio de software ofimáticos como procesadores de textos que nos permitan programar plantillas para reportes o programas de correos electrónicos en los cuales activamos respuestas automáticas. Esta rutina oficinista implica cierta dosis de soledad, donde el trabajador -cotidianamente – le habla y escribe a una pantalla en un cubículo esperando una respuesta en su silla. Continuar leyendo

READING OUT LOUD
When writing texts for the office space, language is conditioned by the pursuit of communication, whereby repetition is a constant practice throughout the daily routine. Working behind a screen can involve a certain dose of loneliness and tediousness, where the worker talks and types into a screen in a cubicle waiting for a response without leaving his chair. In another part of the city, in karaoke bars, we find multiple possibilities for an independent reading, one guided by the opportunity to read each letter aloud. In these spaces, language is configured as a bodily experience mediated by the colored lights and the darkness of the room. The social environment in which you sing reconfigures the direction of reading from personal to collective, making language a shared experience in which response is possible through hearing the words pronounced.
